Girls' shooting-star slip-on sneakers

Bought two of these, one for my 6 yo and another girl my 7 yo.... Shoes are super cute, but, a portion of the star starting cutting in my girls ankles. Because my girls liked the shoes so much, we did not return. Instead we improvised. My husband cut off the part that was slicing up my girls ankles. With the modification shoes was still cute. And all was well, to where you’d never know there was an issue. I was ok with cutting a portion of the star. However, would not recommend because my girls was in a significant amount of pain from actually being cut.
